18V Battery platform
Ryobi ONE+
The platform most clearly built for home use: lots of tools, sensible prices and, according to Ryobi, batteries that fit even its oldest machines. Not built for heavy trade use.

Which batteries fit and which don’t
- Ryobi says every ONE+ battery fits every ONE+ tool, old and new.
- The 36V (MAX POWER) and small USB ranges are separate systems.
- ONE+ HP isn’t a battery: it’s a series of tools that use the same batteries.
What people like most
- Price and value for money
- A huge home-and-garden ecosystem on one battery
- Light, easy-to-use tools
What people criticise most
- Finish and durability below the trade brands
- Doesn’t cope well with sustained heavy use
- Power-hungry tools (circular saw, grinder) need big batteries
I summarise opinions that come up again and again in forums and reviews, linked in the sources. I haven’t tested these tools in person.
Who it’s for
Good fit: Anyone starting out with cordless tools at home who wants to keep adding, including in the garden.
Not a good fit: Site trades, or anyone cutting and drilling all day.
